Dairy-Free and Gluten-Free Costco Snacks (Most Grain-Free Too!)

Costco is a budgeter’s dream! Large-quantity, wholesale products line the aisles inviting large families (and really anyone on a budget) to save a few bucks! But, unlike other wholesale clubs, Costco is also a phenomenal option for those with food allergies. Today we’re diving into some of the best dairy-free and gluten-free Costco snacks for the road! Fortunately, many are grain-free as well!

My husband and I got a membership to Costco almost two years ago now. Today, we honestly don’t know how we ever lived without it!

Being gluten-free and dairy-free, I love Costco!

There are so many dairy-free and gluten-free foods at Costco that I can eat! And most items are also notably cheaper than any grocery store we’ve found! Below are some of our favorite dairy-free and gluten-free snacks at Costco that are perfect for travel.

Unfortunately, some items at Costco can be hit or miss. You may find it once and then not find it at Costco again for a while. Plus, different stores (especially different regions of the country) have different items. So this list is based on what I’ve seen recently and/or several times.

Please Note: I am not being paid by Costco for this post. All thoughts here are my own.

I’ve added the prices I’ve seen below. Of course, prices change and may be different in different areas of the county, but I will make sure to update every once in a while. The prices of the Costco snacks below are based on what I found in Indiana recently.

What Are the Best Dairy-Free and Gluten-Free Costco Snacks?

Grain-Free Siete Chips: Delicious Gluten-Free Chips at Costco

Siete chips are a great option for most people trying to eat less grains! Made from cassava flour, Siete chips are delicious and crunch just like any other thin tortilla chips! And they are so much cheaper than any grain-free chips I’ve ever found at the grocery store.

Even if you don’t normally eat grain-free, if you’re looking for gluten-free chips at Costco, these are a great option!

Note: A change was made in the summer of 2023 to Siete chips. They are now being made on the same manufacturing line as corn chips. For those like me who react to corn, please try these chips with caution. Unfortunately, I have had to take Siete chips out of my diet, but hopefully, you won’t need to!

Vegan White Cheddar Hippeas: Gluten-Free Costco Snack

Another great crunchy snack is vegan and gluten-free White Cheddar Hippeas! There are other flavors of Hippeas, but these are these white cheddar ones are the only ones I’ve seen at Costco.

Hippeas are similar to Cheeto puffs but a little more crunchy in my experience.

Autumn’s Gold Grain-Free Granola Bars

Looking for a nice granola bar? At less than $1 per bar (I found these for $19.99 for 16 bars,), these Autumn’s Gold granola bars will give you energy without breaking the bank. These are perfect to take hiking or anywhere you might be burning calories!

These Costco granola bars are not only gluten-free and dairy-free, but they are also grain-free and Paleo-compliant! I love making grain-free snacks, but sometimes it’s nice to just buy them!

Paleo Grass-fed Beef Sticks

Costco has several different beef jerky options that may work, but I’ve found most of them do not have the logo saying they are certified gluten-free. They may say they are gluten-free, but without the logo, I don’t always fully trust them.

These grass-fed beef sticks from Country Archer Provisions are certified gluten-free and also certified Paleo! Paleo diets do not allow for dairy, so you don’t have to worry about dairy… and actually a whole host of not-so-great ingredients.

Price Found Recently: 28 for $11.99

Almond Crackers: Grain-Free and Gluten-Free Costco Crackers!

I love these almond crackers! I eat them with hummus, chicken salad, or soups. But I also just eat them by themselves when my stomach is upset. They are a wonderful choice for travel when you may end up sick from so many new food options.

Simple Mills Almond Crackers are dairy-free, grain-free, and gluten-free!

Sweet Thins

Oh, guys! I’ve missed graham crackers so much since going gluten-free! I’ve baked a few different options for s’mores when camping, but I was so excited to find these Simple Mills Sweet Thins! No, they are not big, but they taste like Teddy Grahams! A win in my book!

These dairy-free and gluten-free Costco snacks are certified gluten-free, grain-free, and paleo-friendly!

Veggie Straws

Sensible Portions Veggie Straws are great for a road trip! These vegan and certified gluten-free crunchy Veggie Straws are a kid favorite!

Costco sells Veggie Straws by the bag or by the box with 42 one-ounce bags, perfect for feeding a kid’s soccer team or passing out to hungry family members on your way down the road.

Price Found Recently: 25-ounce bag for $7.69

Fruit Leather and Fruit Whips: Naturally Dairy-Free and Gluten-Free Snacks

Pure Organic Fruit Bars are a great portable snack!

My husband is a big fan of these! While Costco also sells That’s It bars, Kaleb thinks Pure Organic are far better than That’s It.

Price Found Recently: 28 for $12.99

Froot Thief Fruit Whips are vegan and gluten-free. While they don’t have a certified gluten-free logo on their bag, their website says they are made in a factory that only handles fruit. So there’s no room for cross-contamination.

The fruit rolls are similar to fruit leather but in the shape of strings.

Applesauce

From GoGo Squeez Applesauce pouches (28 for $11.99) to applesauce cups, Costco has so many forms of applesauce! And applesauce is naturally gluten-free and dairy-free, so no worry there!

Nuts and Seeds: Naturally Gluten-Free Snacks

Costco has several large bags of pistachios, almonds, walnuts, and even pumpkin seeds.

I definitely want to note that the nuts are not labeled as gluten-free. While they are naturally gluten-free snacks, they could be cross-contaminated. I have had their pistachios (3lbs for $14.99) without a reaction, but you should consider if it’s worth the risk for you.

Mini Unreal Dark Coconut Bars: A Dairy-Free and Gluten-Free Costco Treat

Because I try to eat a Paleo diet, I rarely have sweets. Of all the gluten-free Costco snacks I’ve had, my absolute favorites are Mini Unreal Coconut Chocolate Bars! They are made with dark chocolate, organic coconut, cassava syrup, cane sugar, cocoa butter, and vanilla.

And they are delicious!! I have to hold myself back from eating too many of them because I could easily become addicted!

Note: The minis used to be less “mini” but shrunk around the beginning of 2023. Just know going into it that you can eat one of these minis in 3 bites or less.

Price Found Recently: 15.3 oz bag for $9.99

Grain-Free Siete Mexican Wedding Cakes

Confession time! I actually bought these one time for the car ride home! Of course, I didn’t come close to eating them all! But I have a tendency to shop at Costco when I’m hungry! I didn’t know how I was going to make it home and we all know how hard it is to find gluten-free and dairy-free fast food! So I ate a few of these.

The Siete Mexican Wedding Cookies are vegan, grain-free, and gluten-free.

My gluten-eating husband Kaleb tried them for the first time recently, and they got his nod of approval!

Price Found Recently: 16 oz bag for $9.89

Other Dairy-Free and Gluten-Free Costco Snacks

While the list above is purely non-perishable snacks, I wanted to make sure to add some other dairy-free and gluten-free foods at Costco that are great for traveling!

Juices Boxes and Waters

Honest Organic juice boxes at Costco, great for travel!

Honest Organic Juice Boxes

  • Honest Organic Juice Boxes: I love the Honest company! Grab some juice boxes for the car ride. Honest juice boxes are naturally free from dairy and gluten. Plus, no fructose corn syrup!… an especially big no-no for me (corn)!
  • Naked Fruit Juices: They also have Naked Fruit Juices in the refrigerator section. Most of them are gluten-free and vegan, but you’ll need to check the packaging.
  • Vita Coco: I love Vita Coco coconut waters! They are perfect on a hot day. And I love that I can get the electrolytes without lots of sugar! The 11 ounce bottles are a perfect size because they are portable. Price: 18 11oz bottles for $19.89

Fresh Fruits and Veggies are a Wonderful Dairy-Free and Gluten-Free Snack at Costco!

Fruits and vegetables at Costco, great snacks for travel

Looking for a healthy snack from Costco?

There are so many great portable fresh fruit and veggie choices at Costco! We usually go for the mandarin oranges and the mini bell peppers and cucumbers. In fact, I eat 1/3 of a cucumber in slices for a snack every morning (usually with a few nuts as well).

But there are so many more produce options at Costco… carrots, plums, cherries, berries, apples, grapes, rambutans, broccoli florets, etc.

You could also grab hummus at Costco for dipping the veggies.

Another Tip for Dairy-Free and Gluten-Free Costco Snacks

I should also mention that Costco puts an astrict next to any item they plan to either discontinue or take away for a while. If you ever see an astrict next to any of these dairy-free and gluten-free snacks at Costco, make sure to stock up! It may be your last chance!

Summary

This list of dairy-free and gluten-free Costco snacks is not comprehensive. But hopefully, it shows you how great Costco is with food allergies! Anyone who cannot eat dairy and gluten should look at getting a Costco card and grabbing some of these snacks for the road!

This is a great list of Costco’s snacks that are gluten and dairy free. We have friends that have such a challenge at times finding snacks they are able to have.
